Discuss the reaction of the Herod and the kingdoms of this world versus those looking for the kingdom of God. Discuss the reaction of the chief priests and scribes in Jerusalem who were Jewish versus the magi from the east who were Gentiles.

Read fulfilled prophecy connected to this passage of scripture: Isaiah 60:6, Numbers 24: 17, and Micah 5:2.

What can we learn from the Magi that we can apply in our lives about seeking, finding, and worshipping the Christ child? Discuss these points below about the magi:

• They worshipped thoughtfully
• They worshipped sacrificially
• They worshipped together
• They worshipped joyfully

What comes to mind when you think of the word worship? How do you best respond in worship to what Christ has done for us? Do you give sacrificially of your time, money, and talents? If not, how do you want to worship Him more thoughtfully, sacrificially, with other believes, or more joyfully?
