Connect: Have you ever collaborated on something with others, What was that like for you? Lifegiving ? hard ? What made it that way?
Engage: Jeremiah 29:1-14 talks about to endure the exile, not escape it.
Essentially Jeremiah tells them to stop putting their lives on hold, accept the new normal and live out their calling.
But his message is more than just endure a hard situation. What do you think Jeremiah is saying in these verses?
Re read Daniel 3:16-28, How does this story give you encouragement as you read it?
Can you put yourself in the story? How do you think you would respond?
Do you just hang out with Christians? What would it look like for you to reach out to some one who has different opinions and faith? Is that hard for you and what makes it hard?
Zach talked about how to be in this world but not of it. What does that look like for you personally?
What is the hardest part for you to be in this world?
Zach also said that the Israelites were looking for prophets to tell them something else. Do you look to something else besides Jesus to get you through?
Apply: Zach talked about 3 things
Understand our identity: Where do you see this in your life? Do you understand your identity in Christ- what does that look like for you?
Understand your calling: What do you think your gifts are? Where are you involved in the community or are you a consumer? What could you do to be a blessing here in this county?
Understanding your strength and power: Where do you need ask God to give you strength and power? Is the Lord asking you to do something that may require strength and power? Can you trust Him if He has called you to do it? Where can you take one step if you have not?
Pray for opportunities to be salt and light in the community.
