DAY 10: OUR CHURCH BODY: UNITY IN THE BODY

“Make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love; united in spirit, intent on one purpose. Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interest of others.”  Philippians 2:2-4

Even though we have many differences in our church body politically, culturally, theologically, and generationally, pray that each one of us will be “diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” (Ephesians 4:3)  Pray that our focus will be on what unites us spiritually in Christ instead of what divides us and that will serve one another in humbleness and love.

“Prayer makes a godly man, and puts within him the mind of Christ, the mind of humility, of self-surrender, of service, of pity and of prayer. If we really pray, we will become more like God, or else we will quit praying.”—E.M. Bounds
