PSALM 103
PASTOR ZACH BEARSS

CONNECT
Do you have any funny stories (that you are willing to admit) of forgetting something really important in life?

ENGAGE
Read Psalm 103 and discuss all the many ways that the Lord has blessed us in our lives.

In verses 1 and 2 the word “soul ” means to bless Him with our whole being–mind, will, emotions.  How are we in turn supposed to bless His name?

How does forgetfulness or lack of remembrance hinder us in our walk with God?  2 Peter 1:5-11, Psalm 78:7, Psalm 119:16, Deuteronomy 8:11

APPLICATION
Set aside some time to take inventory of your soul.  Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal where your memories  or the thoughts are not aligned with God’s love and HIs word. Use the following tools for the Spirit  to reveal in your life where you are not in harmony with God:

  • singing worship songs to God
  • journaling
  • praying out loud
  • sharing with a trusted friend
  • reading and memorizing scripture
  • trusting by faith that He is at work even when you cannot see it.

PRAY
Spend a few minutes together blessing HIs name and remembering His benefits.
