SPIRITUAL INVENTORY – PASTOR PETER ANDERSEN
01.02.22

2 PETER 1:1-9

Read through the beginning of the passage again: 2 Peter 1:1-4.

  • Why is it important to remember that this passage is written to believers?
  • What are some of the great promises we have been given as Christians?

Read through the list of spiritual qualities again: 2 Peter 1:5-7.

  • Which of these qualities is a strength for you? Why? How can you continue to grow in this area of your spiritual life?
  • Which of these qualities is a weakness for you? Why? How can you grow in this area of your spiritual life? What practical steps do you need to take?

(Don’t put someone down if they are struggling with something. Pray for each other. If you have found some spiritual practice or way of looking at things that helps you, then share that with the group.)

Read through the ending of the passage again: 2 Peter 1:8-9.

  • What does it mean to be effective and fruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ? Why is that important?
  • Why would failing to cultivate these qualities imply that you have forgotten something important about salvation?

Close in prayer.

(If you are up for some fun: take some time for prayers of confession and renewed commitment).
