Read Genesis: 12:1-3. The word “bless” or “blessing” is translated from the word “barak” which means: “to kneel; by implication to bless God (as an act of adoration) and (vice-versa) man (as a benefit).”
How many times is this word used in this passage?
This word was used first in the creation story. Read Genesis 1:22, 1:28, 2:3, 5:2.
Discuss how there is purpose in His-story of being blessed by God to be in covenant relationship with God
Read Matthew 1:1. Discuss how we were ultimately blessed by Abraham’s seed.
APPLY
Read Psalm 115:18, 128:4-5, 145:1. Our response to the blessings of God is to bless HIs name. Read Ephesians 1:3-14. Discuss the spiritual blessings of knowing Christ as your personal Savior.

Bless the Lord and thank Him for all His many blessings in your life.
