JESUS SYMPATHIZES WITH US
Jesus is the exact representation of God the Father. Compare these Old Testament verses about God’s compassion versus the New Testament verses of Jesus’s compassion:
Psalm 25:6, 40:11, 51:1, 103:4, 103:13
Matthew 9:10-13, 14:14, 20:34
Look in the Gospels for examples of Jesus healing others. Discuss the uniqueness of each healing that was tailored for each person’s unique circumstances.
JESUS DEALS WITH US HUMBLY AND GENTLY
Read John 20:24-28 and then discuss the portrait attached below, “The Incredulity of Saint Thomas” by Caravaggio.
APPLY
THE HEART OF JESUS MAKE IT SAFE TO TELL THE TRUTH ABOUT OURSELVES.
Read I John 1:9. What rock are you carrying around that is weighing you down? What are holding onto that is sinking you? What can we release to Jesus because He cares for you and has compassion for you?
PRAY
Pray that we would become more like Christ in our daily walk, being gentle and lowly in spirit, and that we would find rest for our souls when we draw closer to Him.
