To Everything There Is A Season

Ecclesiastes 3:1-3, 6b, 10-11a

For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; I have seen the business that God has given to the children of man to be busy with. He has made everything beautiful in its time.

2020 was a vivid reminder that nothing stays the same in this world. We were made for seasons. Life turns. We laugh, we cry, we laugh again. There is a richness, beauty, and purpose to each season. Each time I walk past this old truck, I am reminded of this lesson from Scripture. This truck was once the newest model; it spent years working heard to take its occupants and load to market, and now it sits unused. Yet, there is value and beauty in each season. God redeems beauty from every season, even the one we’re in now.
