Romans 8:38-39

For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Psalm 27 (verse one displayed)

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

There are a lot of things to fear in life. God is always saying to us, “Do not fear.” Through fear, because of fear, we learn to separate ourselves. Sin separates us from God and each other, and yet we yearn for relationship. God stepped into my life and broke the concrete dam around my heart. This image had been in my head for years and the circumstance, God’s touch, and a phrase from the Anam Cara brought a way to express the transformation. God provides release from fear and separation. In God, we are home.
