“There are no minor characters in the story of God.
Beginning with Genesis 12, walk alongside the fathers of our faith—Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph—to discern Jesus in the stories of His people.
Over 10 sessions, discover how God orchestrates everything for His glory and the good of His people, and see how the God of creation and covenant is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”
WORSHIP CHOIR – SPRING 2019!
Hello singers! We are gearing up for another Sunday with our Worship Choir!
On Easter Sunday, April 21, we will lead the congregation in worship. It will be a great morning as we also celebrate those who will be getting baptized.
The response from our time of worship on December 9 was overwhelmingly positive; for those who participated, I hope you’ll join us again, and for those who weren’t able to join us, I hope you will this time around!
Here are all the details:
This is a SHORT TERM commitment. Similar to last fall, we’ll have five Thursday evening rehearsals and one Saturday morning rehearsal. If you have to miss a rehearsal, please don’t let that deter you from participating. That being said, it will be difficult if you have to miss more than one or two rehearsals, so get in touch with me if you’re concerned about attendance.
Also you do not have to be able to read music to participate. The choir will function as a gospel choir with parts being audibly taught, just like last fall. Being able to read music is an added bonus! Being able to match pitch is the only “requirement” and we seemed to do just fine in the fall. 🙂
Please let me know if you plan to sing with us. You can just reply to this email, reply to an email that will come from the church website in a couple of weeks, or call the church and leave me a message.
REHEARSALS: THURSDAYS, 8:00-9:00pm
March 14, 21, and 28
April 4 and 11
REHEARSAL WITH BAND:

Music selections are still in process, but it will be a powerful morning of music! Get ready!!
IF: Gathering is back on March 1-2 at ClearView! Friday, March 1, 6-9 pm and Saturday, March 2, 8 am – 2 pm. We will provide a free lunch on Saturday and childcare if requested. To RSVP call 395-3120 or go to https://bvco.iflocal.com.

I am inviting you to take the Chaffee Wildfire Survey and provide your perspectives about Chaffee County’s wildfire preparedness. The survey takes 10 minutes and is open until Feb. 28, 2019. It will ask about your perceptions of local forest health and treatment activities such as controlled burns and tree thinning. Your responses will help inform the Chaffee County Community Wildfire Protection Plan. Please take the survey now by clicking this link:
Discussion on the survey responses will take place during public meetings in coming months. Please take the survey now and give your email at the end to be notified of future meetings that will include educational info and action planning, such as what families and homeowners can do to be prepared. Your input is an important part of helping our community work together to protect citizens, homes and essential infrastructure from the destruction of catastrophic wildfire. Thank you!

It is a cheerful environment in which a volunteer can work as little or as much as fits each individual schedule. We are in need of both male and female volunteers. To find out more or to become a volunteer, please call 395-6295 Tuesday through Saturday and ask for Margaret.
We are pleased to announce our new nonprofit Ark Valley Helping Hands. We have been operating as A Little Help for the past 3 years but have recently decided to reorganize to make this a local non-profit organization.
Our mission is to help seniors thrive in their homes with the help of local volunteers. We work with a team of volunteers to provide services around the home, transportation and social visits. Twice a year we do work days at our member’s homes. During this time we send a team of volunteers to each individual’s homes to get outside work done both in the spring and fall. We will also be hosting informational talks and socials throughout the year.
We ask members to pay $225 for a year’s membership, but no one will be turned away due to inability to pay. We are currently working on scholarship funds to offset fees for those who have trouble paying the membership dues.
Our 2019 goal is to bring this program to the Buena Vista community. In order for us to be successful, we need to recruit dedicated volunteers. We will be hosting a Buena Vista Launch Party on February 20th from 5:30-7pm at the Library. Please come to learn more about the program and how you can get involved.
To learn more please contact Sara Ward at 719-530-1198 or email@example.com.
