Join our Women’s Bible Study for “How to Love Disciple Your Neighbor Without Being Weird”with Amy Lively on Tuesday, November 13 and December 4, 11 & 18 at 9:00 am. Learn how to use your work experience, hobbies, and interests to influence culture; overcome your fears and excuses; 10 ways to create discipleship opportunities; and how to share your faith naturally. And… it won’t be weird! These stand-alone discussions require no preparation and have no book or homework, but come ready to see how God can move in our community when we act as the “Everyday Church” in Buena Vista. Celebrate Recovery provides a community of support for recovery from life’s hurts, habits, and hang-ups: tragedy, grief, dysfunctional relationships, codependency, anger, PTSD, abuse, insecurity, eating disorders, overspending, substance abuse, gambling, pornography, and more. The annual Collegiate Peaks Chorale Christmas Concert will be held at the Mountain Heights Baptist Church on Friday 11/30  at 7:00 PM. We are also singing on Sunday Dec 2 in Salida at the 1st Presbyterian Church in Salida at 3 PM. Several members from Clearview will be performing including Brandon Chism (Bassoon accompaniment on one song) and Brad Pranger (Trumpet accompaniment on one song). No tickets needed, just show up and be blessed! Free-will donations are gratefully accepted at the door.

BV Cares Basketball Game on Friday, November 16th from 2-3:25 pm.  Seniors take on a staff team for fun game to raise money for district families with financial hardship due to medical emergencies.  Come cheer for either team!  $2 tickets if pre-purchased at McGinnis Middle School or Buena Vista High School front desk.  $5 at the door.

 

 

 

The Colorado Springs Weekend to Remember Getaway is returning to the Broadmoor this Feb 15-17, 2019.  Will you join us in asking God to once again fill the seats with couples who will hear the message of hope and help for their marriages as the biblical principals for marriage are shared at this event.  Register with the Group name BVMarriages to get a special discount of at least $100 per couple.

Spring Canyon Retreat and Conference Center, a ministry of Officers’ Christian Fellowship, is announcing two full-time staff positions. These positions are available immediately, but will ideally start NLT 1 Mar 19.  A Conference Center Specialist is involved in an array of conference center activities, and should have a strong all-around background in multiple functional areas.  A Guest Services/Front Office Representative accomplishes the gamut of all guest services, reservations, and Front Office activities.  If you are interested in this opportunity, contact Mr. Kim Hawthorne (director@springcanyon.org719-659-3275) for further information and an application.  Completed applications must be received NLT 18 November 2018.

Creekside’s Gatherings:

 

 

Creekside Gathering Place will offer a free Thanksgiving meal on Thursday, Nov. 22nd – Thanksgiving Day from 11:00am to 6:00pm. Feel free to drop by for the meal and stay for games and conversation.

 

Also, Creekside Gathering Place has a small food pantry for transients, elderly, etc.

However, their shelves are bare.  They could use donations of:

City Market Gift Cards

Canned Meals/soup

Boxed meals (Mac n cheese, rice dinners, cereal)

Frozen meat

Peanut butter & Jelly

You may drop off your donations at Creekside 4:00-7:00 pm on Mondays and Thursdays.

 

 

The Supper Club Cook will be taking a break from hosting the Supper Club meals after B V Strong on September 24th through the remainder of 2018.

 

If you would like to host a meal (Food is available), pot-luck or a community gathering of music, games, friendly conversation or provide a warm place to gather as Fall and Winter approach, Creekside is available for use.
