Jesus Encounter

WOMEN’S FORMATIONAL PRAYER GROUP

Jesus Encounter is a formational prayer (inner healing) group designed to bring emotional and spiritual healing and hope to you through encounters with the Master Healer, Jesus.  If you desire a deeper, more joyful walk with the Lord and a life of peace in Him, this group is for you.

The group is for women only and will be facilitated by Lenore Gray, M.Div., LPC. Group size is kept small (maximum of 8) to allow time for personal ministry. The format includes prayer, a teaching component, an experiential activity, and a spiritual focus. Participants are given weekly assignments, scripture readings, and other materials to assist them.

The group meets weekly for 16 weeks beginning Tuesday, January 7, 2020 from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. Participants must commit to all 16 weeks.

Cost for notebook and materials: $105. Discounts available.

Please contact Lenore Gray (303-882-5813 or lenore_gray@ymail.com) for an interview and registration no later than January 3, 2020.  Visit the information booth in the foyer for a brochure.

Join us for our new Women’s Bible Study, What Love Is by Kelly Minter, beginning January 14thThis is a 7-week study on the Letters of 1, 2 & 3 John that not only reveals the heart of John but also the heart of Jesus.  Believers are challenged to look at contrasting themes such as walking in the light instead of darkness, truth versus lies and deception, loving God more than loving the world, and the meaning of true fellowship and community rather than shallowness.  Join us on Tuesdays from 9-11 am or Thursdays from 6:3-8 pm at ClearView.  Sign up at the Info Center, online or by calling the church office at 395-3120.  Childcare is provided upon request.  Cost is $14 for the book.

Calling All Bakers! Our Salt & Light team is inviting you to participate in our 2nd annual BV Christmas Thank You. We are looking for people to bake Christmas goodies to be distributed to town agencies as a “Thank You” from Clearview for their service to our town. Last year your generosity resulted in 3625 baked goods being distributed to 17 agencies in BV.

You can bake as a small group activity, or invite a few friends or neighbors to bake with you as an outreach, a way for them to participate too.

Would you please take a picture of your baking process and finished product and include yourself/your group in the photo and email them to Tanner Brasser, our picture historian, at: tanner.brasser@gmail.com

Please tally and mark the # of items you bake in each container you bring so we can keep count. Please bring your goodies in containers you don’t need returned. This makes distributing the right amount of Christmas goodies to each agency much easier. Thank you!

The Christmas baked goods will be collected in the church kitchen beginning on Monday, December 2nd through Thursday the 12th, except for Wednesday, December, 11th.  We will be delivering the baked goods as we have enough to send out to each agency with our final deliveries being done on Friday Dec. 13th.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact; Cindy Blount @ 401 323-2388

Prison Yarn Thank You & Follow Up

Thank you for donating yarn to the Buena Vista Correctional Complex. We are using your yarn for a rehabilitative Crochet for Charity program. Participants are really excited to give back to the community in this way. So far, we donated to the Veterans’ Home in Monte Vista, with the help of Buena Vista’s American Legion for delivery, and to the Buena Vista Pregnancy Center. Their letters of appreciation are attached as well as photos of some of the participants’ crochet.

We can always use more yarn, if there’s some left in a closet or attic that you would like to see put to use in this way.

Again, thank you.
