SUMMER IN THE PSALMS – IN THE MORNING SATISFY US

CONNECT
Have you ever experienced God more fully in the midst of a loss or a heartache?  Tell of your experience.

ENGAGE
Have someone read Psalm 90 out loud three times.

1. The first time, listen for and discuss what this passage reveals about God.
2. The second time, listen for and discuss what this passage reveals about ourselves.
3. The third time, listen for and discuss any additional insights from His word.

Discuss verse 17 and the meaning of “favor”: “Pleasurable perception of beauty, brightness, grace, and favor”.

APPLY
Ponder and discuss these 4 invitations from Psalm 90:

1. There is a God…and we are not Him.
2. Put God’s gifts in their proper place.
3. Enter into the grief of our Father.
4. Practice gratitude.
5. Face Jesus and His sufferings to experience His beauty.

PRAY
Humble yourself and take time to thank God for the hard things of life and chose to serve Him through the lows and the highs of life.
