Lamentations 1:1,5, 15,17-22 Ezra 1:1, 2:64, 70, 3: 1 and following Isaiah 40:4-5, Jeremiah 36:23-24
Connect: From the beginning of time God has been calling His people home? Can you give an example where you or someone you knew needed to be called back to God? Was it easy or hard?
Engage: Zach talked about how the Israelites had lost their identity to culture. Where have we lost our identity to culture. How do these chapters and verses apply to our lives today? Where do you see this in our culture?
What do you think of the statement, God is the initiator of revival? Zach talked about walking 500-miles back to Jerusalem and that they, 50,000 were a remnant with a renewed heart and 1 vision. What do you think that would look like today? God used Zerubbabel who was born in battle and a product of exile and used Jesuha the promise of what is to come. When you see that God uses both men – what is your takeaway with that knowledge?
What can we learn from the feast of the tabernacles? God used tents, light, and water? How do you see that playing out today and in your own life?
All of God’s energy is rebuilding His people, What do you think about that statement?
Apply: What is your takeaway from this sermon this week? How do you worship the Lord through the week?
Where do you see the living water in your own life and in the lives of others.
Where do you need to thank God for providing for you, directing you and giving you living water?
Where do you need to renew your heart for worship with Jesus this week?
