Helping Others: Family Sunday – 07.30.23

Engage: As believers we have a calling to share Jesus – How do you feel about that? Does it make you nervous or are you confident to share about Jesus? Unpack that with your group or with Jesus is you are doing these questions alone. What is the fear if you are nervous?

1. The Lord has a heart for the nations – Have you ever gone on a mission trip and what was that experience for you? Have you ever had a conversation with someone who was very different than you and what was that like?

2. The Holy Spirit wants to partner with us in helping others? What is your understanding of the Holy Spirit? Do you believe that He will work through you and if not why?

3. Ask God to use us. Is there a hesitancy for God to use you and if there is why is that?

Zach had 5 suggestions at the end of his sermon.

• How can I be helpful? Unpack this with your group or individually.

• Ask God to use you? – How do I want to be used by the Lord?

• Remember the stories of how God has helped you? Where are your stones of remembrance? Share that with someone.

• Look for who might be left out? Church how are we doing with this? Are you intentional with those that are new to our church or in our town?

Apply: What is the invitation for you considering this message? If there is an invitation- What do you need to do to accept that invitation and fulfill it? Is there and invitation to share your faith with some one whether neighbor / someone in town/ someone God has laid on your heart? What do you need to make that happen?
