Connect: Where has the Lord shown up in your life that was different than what you imagined God to do?
Engage: Reread Isaiah 56:1-8 – What do you notice in this passage that strikes you? Zach talked about 3 thoughts in this sermon.
#1. Through the resurrection of Jesus, the promise has gone global.
a. Luke 4:18, 22, 26-2 e 7, Isaiah 61
b. Because Jesus spoke Isaiah 61 – they were going to throw him off the cliff. Are there areas in your life where you may get angry with God?
c. My name is going to the foreigners/ enemies. – Do you have a bias that you think the Lord wants to you to look at?
d. When you picture Glory – what do you picture?
Phillip Jenkins: “Christianity is the largest and most diverse belief system in the world, representing the most an even racial and cultural spread with roughly equal numbers of self- identifying Christians living in Europe, North America, Latin America and sub-Saharan Africa. “

#2. Through the resurrection we have been given an everlasting name.
a. Isaiah 54:8
b. When you are feeling alone or left out – How does that make you feel that you have a name and God calls you by name.
c. Acts 8:26-27, 34-35 – We are invited into the family of God – Does that knowledge – change that for you? How do you see positive ideas of this?
d. Eph. 3:14-18 – You are more than the world says you are. How do these verses in impact your life.
#3. Through the resurrection of Jesus, we are offered an everlasting joy.

b. Secret of aspen trees – is that they are the biggest living organism in the world.
c. It represents the body of Christ. – How does that strike you? Community.
d. What does community look like for you? Are you an active part of community if yes and if no why?
Apply: What is the invitation for you this week? Where do you need to seek the Lord in one of these 3 thoughts and sit with it?
