NEW YEAR PRAYER SERVICE

This 1st Sunday of 2021 was spent in congregational prayer to dedicate the New Year to the Lord. Have your small group do the same, using the notes below as a guideline.
ADORATION: PRAISING GOD FOR WHO HE IS
Read Psalm 145:1-7
Praise Him for His mercy, justice, sovereignty, grace, faithfulness, compassion, creation, holiness, that He is the Alpha and Omega, the Good Shepherd, our Prince of Peace, and only wise King.
CONFESSION: ADMITTING YOUR SINS TO GOD
Read I John 1:9
Confess your anger, resentment, pride, selfishness, inflexibility, addictions, anxiety, fears, weaknesses, ungratefulness, pursuing religion instead of relationship, idols in my life, disobedience.
THANKSGIVING: BEING GRATEFUL FOR THE THINGS GOD HAS DONE FOR YOU
Read I Thessalonians 5:16-18
Thank Him for His provision strength, protection, mercy, unfailing love, salvation, His word, miracles in our lives, His Holy Spirit to lead and guide us, technology that has allowed us to stay connected during the coronavirus.
SUPPLICATION: BRINGING BEFORE HIM YOUR NEEDS AND NEEDS OF OTHERS
Read Philippians 4:6-7
Pray for medical personnel, those in prison, school systems, churches, government on the local, state, and national levels, 1st responders, fireman, police, shut-ins, your own needs, needs of others
