Pete talked about FOMO – Fear of Missing Out. Do you have a fear of missing out on something, or do you have a fear of being found out. FOFO?

Engage: Where do you think about the statement “the fall started with a sneer. Where do you say, “Did God really say” in your life?

Where do you see people worrying about living in scarcity? Where do you see that in your own life?

There is no safe investment. To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything, and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly be broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one, not even to an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements; lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket –safe, dark, motionless, airless – it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. The alternative to tragedy, or at least to the risk of tragedy, is damnation. The only place outside Heaven where you can be perfectly safe from all the dangers and perturbations of love is Hell.” C. S. Lewis

What do you think of that quote?

When we are gripped with fear – self-protection becomes more important that love. How have you seen this in people’s lives or in your own life?

Jeremiah 6:16-17

That the Lord says: “Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. But you said, ‘We will not walk in it.’

What does this verse say to you – Has God shown you a path – have you have an experience where you said, “ I will not walk in it”

Fear has to do with punishment- God is love and Love is Spiritual Warfare. – Love is better than self – protection. What do you think about that? Where have you seen that? I John 4:18

What is a core fear for you? Why does that scare you?
