Luke 19:1-10, John 3:31, John 3:16 Luke 18:18, 23

Connect: Have you ever had experience with VBS in your childhood or helping as an adult? What did you experience either as a student or a leader?

Engage: Read the Lesson of Zacchaeus again. What stands out to you in this story?

    1. Tree–Humbleness
          a. Where do you need to have a childlike humbleness?

Matt 18:3
How do you see children? Where do you need to grow in having patience with children?
Where do you need to have wonder in your life? Where have you been set in your ways?

  1. Crowds-Hypocrisy

    a.  The Barna Research Group–“The work of Christians is to embody Jesus full of truth and grace to reflect His image in all they say and do. However, data shows us they too often fall short. “What do you think of that statement? How have Christians fallen short? Where do we see that today?

    b.  If you have a friend that feels that way–what conversation do you need to have with that person? What would you say?

  2. House–Invitation from Jesus
    a. You are more than your sin and reputation. How does that sit with you?
    b. Jesus says You need to come home. Life doesn’t change first. (love this)

      4.  Extravagant generosity
           a. Zacchaeus was convicted to make some areas right in his life. He stayed in his town and make things right with those he cheated/ reconciliation. Is there someone or something you need to reconcile with them and what will you do about that? Is there someone you need to practice extravagant generosity with?

Apply: What is one takeaway for you this week through the VBS presentation and the story of Zacchaeus? Who is one non- believer that God is inviting you to pray for or have a conversation with?
